You'll find our two care homes, Poplars and Sycamores, sharing the same tranquil setting in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Our experienced staff members provide a wide range of care, for the elderly and those living with dementia, that's tailored to individual needs. We aim to offer all residents a high quality of life, whatever their circumstances. Some residents stay with us permanently, others for shorter periods. Our short-stay respite care can be booked up to a year in advance, which can be helpful when planning holidays and short breaks. We also offer end-of-life care, which can be crucial in giving relatives the help and support they need during a difficult time. Both homes enjoy a lovely central position, close to the town centre and all its amenities, and have good transport links, making day trips and visits easy. Many of our modern bedrooms have en-suite facilities and all are decorated to a high standard. Most are single occupancy, although we do offer the option to share. An exciting new career opportunity for experienced carers The role of Care Home Assistant Practitioner - or CHAP - is an important position within our care homes. It allows people with existing supervisory experience with an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social care within a care environment to take on a higher level of responsibility and reward. Our CHAPs combine their caring activities with an extended range of clinical skills, such as administering medication and delivering minor wound care. CHAPs always have the support of the Registered Nurses in our homes. At every stage you'll be supported and mentored by a Registered Nurse so that you quickly develop not only new clinical skills but also the confidence to use those skills in a leadership role. The kind of person we're looking for You'll have a minimum 12 months' carer experience, ideally in a supervisory position, in an adult care home or possibly within the NHS - with at least an NVQ 2 in Health and Social care and working towards Level 3. Very importantly you'll be keen to develop your career as a carer. You'll also be driven and not afraid of a challenge, with a good communication style that will allow you to lead other team members and work effectively alongside our nurses. The successful candidate must have a minimum SVQ/NVQ level 2 or Diploma in Health & Social Care and must achieve level 3 within 12 months after employment in the role. A minimum of 12 months experience of working in a health & social care setting. You must have the following attributes; Caring, Empathetic, Resident-focused Literacy - good standard spelling, grammar and punctuation, Basic numeracy skills, Problem- solving skills, Good verbal communication and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
