Salary: GBP22,000 + Mileage + Benefits


Our client is a unique training provider organisation based in Derbyshire who have an excellent reputation and a great working environment.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Health and Social Care Trainer/Assessor to join their team.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the training, assessment and support of a caseload of learners undertaking Apprenticeships across Derbyshire, parts of South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.

The role will involve the provision of high quality and effective learning experience appropriate to the needs of individual learners.

You will also be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completions in line with company procedures and set timescales. A strong occupational background in your specialist area is required.


- Deliver full Apprenticeship frameworks in; Health and Social Care and to include Functional Skills (Maths/English) to level 2

- Manage a caseload of up to 40 learners and ensure timely visits and reviews are conducted

- Deliver training and perform observations and reviews of learner progress within their place of work

- Organise and maintain documentation on learners' progress

- Mentor, coach, support, advise and motivate learners to be successful in their programme of learning

- Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet specific needs

- Build and develop relationships with Employers

- Identify and engage potential Employers and learners onto Apprenticeship programmes to maintain caseload

- Meet Assessor KPIs in terms of timely completions, visits, quality paperwork and general administration

- Participate in professional development ensuring skills are current

- Attend and contribute to staff/team/contract meetings

- Promote and monitor Health and Safety including Safeguarding and Prevent in all aspects of your work and report/record any issues that may arise

- Promote and monitor Equality and Diversity in all aspects of your work and report/record any issues that may arise

Essential Criteria:

- Assessor Award (TAQA, A1, D32/D33 etc.)

- Level 3 or higher qualification in Health and Social Care

- GCSE A-C in maths and English or equivalent

- Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate

- Full UK driving licence and your own transport

- Must be flexible with travel


- Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert in Education and Training/Cert Ed) or willing to work towards

- Internal Quality Assurance (IQA/V1/D33) Qualification or willing to work towards

- Prevent training

- Safeguarding training


- 37 hour working week

- 25 days holidays per annum plus bank holidays

- Business mileage reimbursed at GBP0.45 pence per mile

- Contributory Pension and Healthcare Scheme

- Salary : 22000
