Job Purpose: Principal purpose of the role is to act as a supporting pillar for the BiffaFuels Team within Biffa's I&C Division allowing the continued development and evolution of the team. Undertake routine, daily, weekly, monthly and annual tasks in which the manual system currently held by the team is maintained to a consistent and thorough standard. Ensure the consistent, proactive and efficient checking, reporting, maintenance of datasets and document control. Principal Accountabilities: 1 Organise Fuel Measurement and Sampling (FMS) regime to ensure fuel samples are collected and results are received promptly. 2 Compile reports of FMS results tailored to several audiences. 3 Assist the compilation, submission and maintenance of Transfrontier Shipment (TFS) applications. 4 Review, monitor and report active loads of Biffa TFS notifications 5 Assist TFS & quality auditing of production sites on a 6 monthly basis. 6 Engage with EA, Recovery Partners and Production Sites to ensure all recovery certificates are received, recorded and filed effectively. 7 Work with Regional Admin, Cashiers and Purchase Ledger Departments to ensure short payment terms for European suppliers are adhered to. 8 Monitor and report RDF volumes against internal budgets and commercial contract volumes. 9 Track RDF volumes to report adherence to put-or-pay contractual agreements. 10 Work with Procurement and other Biffa departments to set up new suppliers and disposal sites. 11 Proactively give periodic updates to production sites/Finance as to disposal rates. 12 Engage with International Logistics Office to support haulier list and TFS route updates. Nature and Scope: Desk based support role working within the BiffaFuels Team but also alongside the Fuel Production Sites, International Logistics Office, Recovery Partners, Environment Agency and Biffa's Central Functions. Identify and highlight opportunities for improved efficiency and control. Person Specification: Education / Qualifications Minimum grade 'C' or equivalent in GCSE Maths & English 'A' level or equivalent education Experience Working with Microsoft Office Handling large sets of data Using databases/spreadsheets to track data and information Working with authoritative bodies i.e. Environment Agency Technical Knowledge Problem solving Waste industry knowledge (ideally) Working in the Environmental Sector (ideally) Basic understanding of laboratory/chemical analysis data (ideally) Skills and Behaviours Excellent organisational skills Effective at prioritising and managing workload Attention to detail Methodical approach to work Self-motivated Team player In return we offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits and real career progression.
