As a history graduate learning mentor at this superb Walsall secondary school you will initially be supporting small group interventions within the humanities department. Some of the students will require additional support to grasp certain concepts within the subject, whilst others will need an extra push to help them achieve their high potential. You will be allocated a dedicated mentor who is an outstanding teacher at the school who will guide you through the year giving you an exceptional insight in to how to become a superb teacher in the future.

You must be a history graduate from a top university/Russell Group university with at least a 2.1 degree. You should be a confident communicator both written and verbally. Resilience is key to this role as no two days will be the same and on occasion there will be challenging days as well extremely rewarding days. Your experience gained as a history graduate learning mentor will be invaluable the year after when you decide to train to teach. The school has its own teacher training route so should you wish to train to teach directly with the school the following year then this is a viable option for you.
