We're going on an exciting journey, and we need more like-minded travellers to help us get there You will be an active member and leader of a product development team. The team you lead will be cross functional potentially comprising of developers, test engineers and business analysts. You will be expected to be a hands-on developer in this role. Main Duties & Responsibilities - Project Delivery; o Create and maintain project delivery plans based on the defined priorities and agreed ways of working o Manage the assignment of work to all team members o Provide accurate and timely project/product status reporting as required - Development o Participate in the technical design and direction of the project in conjunction with the stakeholders and other technical team members o Implement, test and debug code to satisfy approved specifications and designs using approved development tools and frameworks o Develop inline with best practice and lead/contribute to the definition and implementation of these best practices as required o Continual improvement of team performance through processes, tools, technologies and behaviours - Staff Management; o Lead and manage a cross functional team (potentially consisting of software developers, test engineers and business analysts). o Line management responsibilities will include recruitment, appraisals, 121 meetings, identifying training needs, motivating and performance managing the team o Provide mentoring and coaching in technical and non-technical skills to team members - Communication; o Facilitate two-way communication of technical and non-technical information within the team and department, via effective ad hoc and formal communication, verbally and in writing. o Communicate effectively and professionally with other departments and Zonal divisions. o Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders especially other Development Team Leads (or those in a similar position to this role) - Operational Assurance; o Fully participate the support of production systems, including participating in an out of hours rota. o Ensure the product is technically able to meet operational targets for performance, quality and uptime by pro-actively identifying changes required to support forecast growth o Work closely with operational and support teams to ensure operational integrity of the solution
