Design Technology Technician

Level 5 – Point 17 – 21 £17,547 to £19,939 (Pro Rata)

 (Term Time Only)

The academy seeks to appoint a suitably qualified person to join the excellent Design Technology team to provide technical classroom assistance and to provide general support and assistance to aid the smooth running of work in the Design Technology department. 

The role includes preparation of technology teaching resources including wood, metal and plastic materials, maintenance of equipment as well supporting the teacher and students in the classroom.  The applicant should be a team player and be committed to the education of all young people, who is willing to learn new skills.

The successful candidate should have good IT skills, be conscientious, hardworking and reliable.

This post is suitable for someone who:

  • has knowledge and experience of working in a workshop environment
  • has the practical skills for the position, gained for example by having a background in trade, industry or teaching.

The successful candidate will have the ability to use and demonstrate machinery and various software packages including CAD/CAM equipment however training will be provided for the successful candidate.
